My project focuses on the recycling of metals and scrap in the context of urbanisation in China, and the coexistence with humans. It reflects on the issues behind urban labour and reflects on our relationship with metal.
I combine two different dimensions, 'Virtual' and 'Real', with moving images and interactive processes to express my understanding of the relationship between metal, the environment and human development. At the same time the audience can participate in the process.
When "Life" and "Rest" come together, the whole work becomes a readable, complex live work, like an encyclopaedia.
